We're Burning
This 11"x14" Acrylic painting is a meditation piece, which I hope to do more of. Basically, to me, this means I bring out the blank canvas, for 5 minutes, I turn on some meditation music and stare at the canvas. During this process, I focus on breathing, and view my thoughts as clouds, let them come by and then leave. During this mediation, reds, oranges and yellows were running around in my mind so I started by letting my hand guide me through these colors. As I painted the flowy background, I was seeing faces, so that’s what I painted. At the end, I felt strong emotions about the LA fires, the pain and suffering from so many people that just had their entire lives ripped from them. I believe that to be the main influence behind this painting.
