36”x24” acrylic painting done on a stretched canvas. This piece is all about the unity between science and spirituality. I find a lot of times that some people seems to think you can’t be scientific and spiritual at the same time, or that spirituality goes against science and vis versa. This is not true, these two things walk hand in hand and one cannot be without the other. I am a strong believer in proven data and am not one to fully trust anything without some scientific research to back it up. At the same time I am a spiritual person as I am aware of my energetic field (which is proven) and the way manifesting and visualization are a spiritual practice yet is proven in neuroscience. I am aware that some things are near impossible to prove but with spiritual practice in trusting intuition, we can feel that some things are true, like the souls within us. To represent science I made the background look like a chalk board with mathematical equations, molecular structures, geometry and more. As little easter eggs for my audience I even added the LSD, THC and DMT molecular structures, as they are a common gateway into our spirituality. The boxes are a representation of the pathway to inner power and understanding, it’s not the easy path but it is the worth it path, which then leads to our worlds color pallet. The ray of rainbow light then is absorbed by the spiritual being in meditation as they unlock all seven chakra centers. The colorful light then spews outward, representing the affect our energy has on the outside world. I took this piece to the Sfam show in Detroit and had an amazing opportunity to allow a creative individual part take in the creation, they painted the aliens at the bottom corners with mushroom which to me not only shows this concept goes beyond our world and is a universal conception, but also shows true collaboration, the art is not just for me but for everyone, this shows unity.
