STONED

$70.00

16"x20" acrylic painting done on a stretched canvas. I wanted to create my version of medusa, one of the three Gorgons in Greek Mythology. She would have snakes in place of hair and if looked in the eyes will turn you to stone. Medusa holds alot of power and meaning to learn. We see her as a symbol of protection to ward off negativity, you could see her as an evil to ward evil. She originally took on these snakes and curse as a punishment given by Athena after being raped by Poseidon. This story shows over and over and over again in our society and it’s time we say enough.
